Big Fat Deal-Dita von Teese

I personally am a big fan of Dita von Teese. She's a real women with a real body. And she loves that about herself and bases her entire career off of it. I think that it's a little wrong for someone to be negatively commenting on how she goes to the gym when, shouldn't we all be supporting each other and not putting each other down? If equality is what everyone wants then why try to put someone else down just for how they look when they go to the gym. Plus, in every magazine there's a page dedicated to how "horrible" celebrities look without make-up on. What is Dita supposed to do, she'd be put down either way. Atleast this way she's doing what she feels confident doing and not caring about what anyone else says or blogs about.

  1. I also looked at this article, and completely agree it destroys ones self esteem if they are constantly being criticized. I find Her to be very impressive in her ability to be so bold and strong when people are constantly judging. Nobody can be perfect and it is important that we are all reminded that everyone has flaws, how you carry yourself can make a huge difference. If you are happy with yourself you should have to worry what others are thinking, or have to critic everything on your body.

  2. I completely agree with you here. I think its crazy how there are so many double standards in out society that its almost impossible to just be left alone. I think that Dita von Teese is a beautiful woman and if she wants to wear make-up to the gym, then good for her. I think that the important thing is the fact that there is someone like her in the public eye that resembles something other than some waif of a woman. I like her and the empowering message she sends out.

  3. I really like how retro and strong her look is. She doesn't fake tan and presents herself very confidently. Like you guys said, if she wants to wear make up to the gym, more power to her. Sometimes i wear make up to the gym, big deal! She is a good role model for young girls because she shows alot of individuality in a world of conformity.

What you said about supporting each other is so important! Why are we always putting each other down for everything? It is only perpetuating the fact that you can never be good enough. When are we going to start supporting each other and caring about the individual? When will people accept each other for what they have to say and not what they look like? I hope and strive for a time when people can accept peoples differences and celebrate our diversity.
