Eating Disorders in a Disordered Culture
I liked the fact that this website offered real, raw stories about people and their struggles with eating disorders. I think that this type of resource would be really helpful to someone struggling with the disease. I think that having the stories of other people and their struggle would help someone suffering because it would give them an example of someone who could understand what they are going through. It would give them a sense of hope. I think this site would give people the strength they may need if they feel alone in their struggle. I also like how this site had something like a bulletin board that people could post their own stories and struggles on. I think this would also help with someone as they battle this disease because they could make a connection with someone that they feel understands what they are going through. I don't think this site is as professional looking as some of the other sites I've seen, but I think that it offers some really great information and hope for those who struggle.

I agree Laura, the real raw stories, although hard to hear, help with a greater connection to understanding the roles these diseases partake in within women's lives.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The real stories are a great way to reach out others with similar struggles. I would hope by the end of this term, you will be able to remember some resources for someone in need down the line!

ReplyDeleteI completely agree. This website was very eye opening and made you think about how this is really happening, why this is really happening and what we can do about it. Your comments on how this could help someone who is struggling with an eating disorder is so important. It is beneficial for these women to know that they have a place to go so that they can feel support and this website is a great place!
