About-Face
First impression I really like the set up of About-face. I think the bright colors are very inviting and the organization of the whole site seems very professional and would make people want to visit it. One part I thought was very cool is the “gallery of offenders” the majority of these advertisements were so inappropriate and almost 100% based on having the typically beautiful body that it made me feel worse about myself just seeing them! I think the two worse were the “miss bimbo” game for girls and the “Tom ford” cologne with the three photos! The last one was the worst! Who wants to see a bottle of perfume between a lady’s legs covering her vagina! Come on have some taste people!

Amen sistah... seriously being interested in photography... I have found soooo many ads that really arent even getting the point across with their products... we are not selling body parts, vaginas... or sex... I really wish that somehow somewhere, this would really backfire for companies/photographers... lawsuit anyone, maybe even a decrease in profits due to intense campaigning against companies, that sell with the objectification of women?
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! And how many people is the ad with the perfume and the naked women geared towards? If it's towards women, what woman is gonna see that and truly want that perfume? And if it's towards men, it is still not a very big group because no mom, girlfreind or wife would ever let the man in her life buy something with that type of image.
