Kiss My Assets
This website was very intriguing. It is a blog that discusses weight issues in the media and just life in general. The first story discussed Mary-Kate Olsen and how girls see her "thinness" as an inspiration. One girl even stated how when she feels the urge to give in and eat she just looks at a picture of Mary-Kate. It is sad to see girls choosing role models based on their thinness. What ever happened to looking up to those who change the world like Mother Teresa and Rosa Parks. It is unfortunate because this thinking and overall focus on being thin only fuels the fire around weight and weight bias issues.

That is so true how today young celebrities are being criticized for being close to a normal weight and admired when they are way too skinny.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me really sad that people have role models that are not healthy. It makes me sad that someone would use a super skinny model as inspiration to be skinny. What ever happened to being healthy?
