I did not like how this website talked down to the "war on childhood obesity". I completely disagree with the publisher on this topic. Currently working in schools, I have noticed an increase in childhood obesity. Many of these students have no concept of nutrition. A shocking number of these students eat fast food more than three times a week. In addition, many of their parents are not educated when it comes to nutrition. I think there needs to be a program which educates both students and parents. I do not think, though, that childhood obesity is something that is ridiculous, but rather a sad occurrence. The number of students with Type 2 Diabetes in the school I am at, alone, has increased 10% in the last ten years.
